A final conference “Human Rights Strengthening through Capacity Building of Selected NGOs” took place on 19 February 2010. The Final Conference provided the space to reflect on the major outcomes of the completed “Human Rights Strengthening through Capacity Building of Selected NGOs” program aimed at strengthening the institutional and advocacy capacities of six NGOs.

The EU has learnt that the complaint filed on behalf of Kazakh human rights defender and member of the ODIHR Panel of Experts on Freedom of Peaceful Assembly, Evgeniy Zhovtis, in order to protest against procedural violations made during the appeal hearing of his criminal trial was turned down by the supervisory college of the Almaty regional court on December 10.

Today at 15:00 pm Partnership for Open Society organized a discussion on the “Amendments to RA Law on Non-governmental Organizations” at AUA Business Center (Yerevan, Alek Manougyan 9). Civil society representatives and experts were invited to discuss the impact of proposed amendments on the NGO community.

The “Partnership for Open Society” Initiative organized the presentation of “Monitoring of Legislative Activities of Political Parties of RA Parliament” project results. The presentation took place on October 23, at 14:00 at the Business Center of American University.

The Civic Advocacy Support Program (CASP) - a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded project, implemented by Counterpart International announces its solicitation for Human Rights Small Grants’ competition from civil society organizations (registered and operating Armenian non governmental, non profit public organizations including NGOs, foundations, unions of legal entities).

The “Achilles” Center of drivers’ rights protection, a member of Partnership for Open Society, strives to solve the problems existing in the sphere of road traffic via the principles of democracy and working with governmental and non governmental organizations. During the ten years of its existence, it has acted as mediator on behalf of many drivers whose rights have been violated.
