You are cordially invited to participate in the policy discussion Social and Economic Impact of the Financial Crisis: Armenia Today and Tomorrow. This discussion will focus on the impact of the global financial crisis and Armenia’s economic prospects including such key issues as agricultural development, foreign debt, fiscal policies, immigration, and increased poverty rates. Our fellows, Vilen Khachatryan, Anna Makaryan, Mkhitar Gabrielyan and Narek Vardanyan, will provide a comprehensive overview of the economic realities on the ground today and make policy recommendations based on their research findings. The session will be moderated by Tsovinar Nazaryan, media expert and 2012 Universal Rights Award (Women of Courage) recipient.
Participants include representatives of the Government of the RoA, national and international organizations, the media, policy researchers, and academics. The policy briefs are enclosed for your kind reference.
The discussion is held within the framework of the OSF-Armenia Policy Fellowship Initiative, which is designed to stimulate policy debates on today’s critical challenges. Launched in February 2011, the Policy Fellowship Initiative produced a number of concise policy papers that focus on the most urgent issues in the country and develop creative and unconventional solutions.
The public discussion will be held on Thursday, November 8th, 2012, 17:00, at the American University of Armenia, Alex and Marie Manoogian Hall, Baghramyan 40. The working languages will be Armenian and English, with simultaneous translation.
