Presentation of The Public Monitoring Group Inspecting the Pre-detention Facilities in RA

The Public Monitoring Group inspecting the pre-detention facilities in RA organized a presentation of their yearly activities as well as the presentation of the book titled “The Rights of People under Arrest and Their Relatives”. The presentation took place on December 24th at Congress hotel. Many representatives from organizations functioning in the sphere of detainee and human rights protection, representatives of Police and Ministry of Internal Affairs were present during the event.

Unresolved problems with the human rights and civil liberties

On March 11 the MCC left the suspension of the funding for roads within the MCA-Armenia Compact in place. The initial suspension in June 2008 was motivated by unresolved problems with the human rights and civil liberties and the last decision not to lift suspension was due to insufficient progress in solution of these problems.
